Just bought this 1999 W202 2.4 Elegance Auto for £675 F.S.H Full Mot, spent £110 for new wiper motor, brake switch for BAS light, carb cleaner for the MAF. Didn't know that the small V6 can be so smooth

A couple more, just found out you can have the speed limiter on permanently, even if you switch off the engine, handy if an inexperienced driver is using it. The car drives a dream, very happy with it as a second car.

Thanks, it is a lot of car for the money, the other half is very please she now has a Mercedes instead of a Honda ( CRX got stole a couple of weeks ago)

Very nice motor for very nice money!
Multi cyl. petrol engines can make very good sense if they can be bought at the right price. You will be able to afford quite a few trips to the fuel station with the money you saved on that. I bought a V6 petrol Audi A8 some while back, cost next to nothing, I ran it for intergalatic miles and it was fine.
I'm sure your new Mercedes will do the same.

They were originally a 2.4 then changed to a 2.6 for emissions reasons (same power output). Mine's a 2.4.
