E Class Coupe Cdi 350 Sport.
Does any member tow with the E350 Coupe. Have been a keen caravaner for many years but my family turned against me two years ago telling me where to stick my caravan adventures. Was like driving a stake through my heart !

Anyway bought a wee cheepie 2 berth caravan just for me last year for my solo cycling and golfing trips. So how good a tug is the E350 ? Will be a detachable tow bar of course ...

GAS ...

Think it will be a great towing car. I think MB do an electrically stowing one I would have thought.

Double check that you can legally tow with it as it may not have european type approval - discovered this recently with the E cabriolets - only the 220cdi is approved, not the 250cdi or the 350cdi

Oh No !! Been pricing detachable tow bars on the internet and the E350 Coupe does not seem to come up .. I may have bought a untowable Tug:doh:

SMeesh..

That can't seriously be right, it's the same car with a more powerful engine!

Looked at (and bought:bannana:) a E250cdi cab at the weekend, 2013 pre facelift. In the V5 there are towing capacities.
I have a 2014 facelift brochure, for both coupe & cabriolet, for both only the 220 diesel has a towing capacity:dk:

Yes,after the facelift MB declined to get all but the 220 tested and approved for towing , to save money. So you can't legally tow with them.

Even if you could get a tow bar your insurance would be invalid and you would be in breach of the road vehicle construction and use laws. Glad I',ve given up towing so I can replace my pre facelift E350 cab.

Hmmm , perhaps one could purchase the 220 , which legally can tow , and modify it by fitting a different engine . Technically , it would still be a modified 220 , so could legally be used for towing ...

I had one of these on my E350cdi Cabrio 2010

Car now sold but I only used it with my cycle rack so can't comment on towing performance.

Was fitted by NorthWest Towbars in Stockport - they are pretty clued up.
