As it was time to get my shiney summer rims out i thought id get the TPMS sensors moved from my 18" standard rims to my 19" splits.
The 19`s already had the valves on so it was a matter of breaking the bead on each tyre on my existing 18`s, pushing tyre down enough to get a socket on to undo the sensor.
I made a note of which sensor was on which wheel (only took out 3 as one was faulty), then a week later found time to change the wheels over to my 19`s and repeat the process to install, although the fitter did have to take the tyre off two of them as he dropped the screw whilst putting the sensor in and there was a broken TPMS screw head in another.
At the same time i replaced the faulty sensor with a new one and had that pressurised to 50psi to activate the sensor, then dropped to the correct pressure.
After reset on the cluster I was surprised that it all came to life without any STAR coding of the new sensor?!?!
a week later and it all works as it should do!
Thanks go to the guys at WheelWorx in colchester who took really good car of my wheels whilst replacing the sensors and done a blinding job of refurbing one of my 18" E55 alloys i gave them which was very badly kerbed prior to me buying it.
I have now replaced 3 of my TPMS sensors, the 4th one was replaced by previous owner a few years back so hopefully no probs in that arena for a while!
