Hello

As the title says, under medium to hard acceleration the traction control light will start flashing and thinking the car is skidding/loosing traction when it isn't. If I release the accelerator pedal and then back on theaccelerator the light will go off and the car will accelerate normally.

When the light comes on the car will not accelerate nor is it actually loosing any traction.

I've swapped the abs sensors, had manufacturer approved tyres fitted and had the alignment done and its made no difference. The diagnostics/star shows no fault codes.

Anybody have any ideas?... I'm thinking of swapping the steering sensor next.

Thanks :).

Maybe one of the body motion sensors for ESC is acting up? Like a Yaw rate sensor. Not much help I know but might be worth bearing in mind or even finding out what's the most common sensor that gives problems. I presume the rear suspension is o.k.?

The rear suspension is okay as the car has only covered 20k and is typically out of warranty now by six months! I'll check out the ESC though, Thanks.

I would expect to see the light flash under heavy acceleration.

My 270CDI does that very often, I have crappy made by Korea wheels, they actually will loose some traction when flooring. My W320CDI has better tyres but occasionally I can get get triangle flashing too. It's torque that speaks... :D

I expect loss of traction now and again. The weird thing is the car is continously flashing the light at me until I release the pedal.
I tested it once, the traction control actually stayed on for 5 miles going down the A1. The car thinks it's loosing traction when it isn't. Very strange! :-(

Hmm... have you same sized tyres all around?

Then I would go wheel speed sensors again (I am nor aware what kind of sensor reluctor ring ML-class has), seeing live data of sensors when car thinks its loosing traction. It may be dirty sensor ring or damaged wire etc. Or acceleration or yaw rate sensor like said.

Yes correct size tires. I'm thinking that live data might give a good indication of what is happening.
