The benefits are extra BHP and torque. The downsides (IMHO) are increased insurance, voided warranties, shorter engine life and lots of extra smoke. I expect Dieselman will be along soon to extoll the virtues of having an EGT gauge and he's right - all too many tuners just increase fuel and boost with no regard for EGT. I don't much care for 'chips' or tuning boxes and would much rather have a custom ECU map done by someone who knows that they're doing.
Thanks for that. I must say I'm not finding the car lacking in power. I guess I'm interested in the engine running better in terms of response and efficiency. I do put my foot down every now and again too
