New rear tyres looming for my c207, e coupe. These are 255x35xR18. Present ones are Micheln Pilot Sports and have covered 32000miles. I have been looking at alternative brands but cannot really find an alternative that offers good mpg/wear/performance. Michelin are pricey at £150 each but.....

You've not been looking very far .

Have you not answered your own question?

Tyre prices have risen sharply over the last few months. I wouldn't call Michelin tyres at £150 each particularly pricey.
If you are happy with the comfort and grip levels, why change brands? I wish I could get 32k miles out of my tyres!

^ I've got two GY Asymmetric 5's coming Thursday for my rears.
Should be a big improvement on the P Zero's.

Have kumhos on the front and they are good. I think the wear would be worse on the rears ( even allowing for the price difference) and noise level mat be slightly worse than the Michelins.

I’ll second the Goodyears - they’re brilliant. Grippy, seem to last, and so very quiet.

Top tyre , well overdue for an evolution , I had some Sportmax TT , terrible wear but even near the wear bars still felt good in the wet .

Have conti 5 SP all round on mine. Not cheap at all. But what a fantastic tyre. The grip in the wet is amazing. I've read the wear rate isn't a strong point but I can oversea that with the performance levels.

Definitely will be. You might actually be able to use your power with the GY 😉

The Goodyear Assymetrics may be a worthy alternative to my Michelin choice. If I can get good wear and they are relatively quiet, they should fit the bill!

I think there is a typo and you meant 245x45x17 ?

If so, yes Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 5's are available in that size and would be a good choice.

Haha! I think I might have had cocktail hour a little early...on the continent! Obviously 245 - my bad!

As guys have noticed tyre prices are going up,if you need tyres in the next 12 months buy them now and put them in the garage, with this covid there has been a big drop in raw rubber being collected,I know many like particular tyres, well you might have to settle for another brand in the coming months.
