As guys have noticed tyre prices are going up,if you need tyres in the next 12 months buy them now and put them in the garage,with this covid there has been a big drop in raw rubber being collected,I know many like particular tyres,well you might have to settle for another brand in the coming months.

I thought most tyres are made from synthetic rubber ..

There is about 20% raw rubber in tyres,synthetic rubber has been around for at least 80 years so the fact that much less raw rubber has been collected in the last 18 months will I think impact of tyres available,but hey I have new tyres on the car and the mileage I am doing these days they will last three years as it is tyres eat and drink nothing so it is up to the car owner.

I am trying now to decide upon the Michelin PS4 or the Goodyear F1 Assymetric . I note that the rating for thes are:
Michelin C Wear/A Grip/71 Noise
Goodyear D Wear/A Grip/72 Noise

Now the Goodyears are cheaper and I wonder if I will notice the worse wear and noise of the Goodyears?

You won’t hear 1db , besides tyre noise is all down to how well the car is sound insulated

I am getting 4x PS4s fitted to the ML tomorrow (255/50-19, £137 a corner and a free dash cam thrown in). I read all the reviews I could find and these appear at or near the top of every test so I don't begrudge the price.

Don’t forget that the moment the temperature drops below 7 degrees C , summer tyres become “pants” anyway . It’s then winter tyre time

Did you consider the Goodyear F1's?

Blackcircles are £41 extra per tyre for my size (and no free dash camera). I did consider the F1s and did find a very good price before I went on holiday about three weeks ago but the offer has ended and the Michelins were the best overall value when I came to purchase.
