Tyre Choice

My two penneth...
I know absolutely nothing about the brand you are referring to (good, bad etc etc), but these are my thoughts.

First thought: When it comes to 'needing them' i.e stopping in a hurry or over cooking a corner a little bit, you won't care how much your tyres cost.

Second though: the manual or somewhere on the car it says use brand X,Y or z if you use something else where does this leave you from an insurance perpsective (modification?) dunnow.

Personally would prefer to use a brand I have heard of and 'trust' ...power of brands! (same is true for MB I guess).

I use Dunlop things at about £58 a pop, main dealer also suppliers same, so in my thinking it means they should be O/K.

The NCT5s were bought at Micheldever tyres (about £45 each last December). They were made in China. Its not just cheap tyres that are made in China.

And are they approved for use here, with the right "E" number stamped on them? There were some posts on here a little while ago about companies selling Chinese tyres that were only ever intended for the Asian market and are illegal in the UK (it was mainly Goodyears that were mentioned although I gather it could happen with most makes).

I am using Dunlop Sport Maxx at present on the front , and Dunlop SP9000 on the rear. I have found them great in the wet and stick really well in the dry. Would reccomend them as a good all round tyre. Also they have a rim protector for alloys to stop them kerbing easily.
