Tyre Pressure Monitor Fault

Hi,

I have a W220 S 500 with the tyre pressure monitors. It has started telling me to "see the workshop" and now won't reset to operate normally. THe dealer had a look and told me that one of the sensors wasn't communicating with the receiver unit. However when I check the "page" that has the tyre pressures they are all there and correct. It just seems to me that the "monitoring" may not work but there must be some communications between the sensor unit and the receiver to enable to pressures to be detected.

Anyone have any ideas on this - estimated cost around 120 pounds to fix by replacing the wheel sensor. I am not sure this will in fact fix it though.

thanks

The sensors have a battery life of 5-7 years and need replacement after that.

is it possible to replace just the battery or must the entire sensor be replaced?

However, it still doesn't explain why I actually get a reading of the pressure on each wheel if the battery is flat..

thanks

you have to replace the sensor. The battery is sealed inside the sensor.
