An old one
Hi all,

23k on the clock and pulling terribly - front edges worn round. Probably same tyres from new on front.

Had already swapped fronts over, re-aligned and drove OK for 10k, but pulling getting worse. Worn outside edge front left tyre edge implicated by very experienced (and most excellent) tyre alignment mechanic.

Think is time to put new boots on front and get alignment checked (again).

Current tyres are ContiSportContact5 FA: 225/25R17 91 W and RA: 245/40R17 91 W.

Any recommendations for tyres: Bridgestone, Mich, Dunlops, Pirelli - or stay with Conti?

Is it time to get the "camber/caster bolts" fitted by MB?

Will inflating them a bit harder help with wear? (i.e. even it out.)

Thanks for responses!

To put it bluntly: in the 9 months I've had this this car, its inability to drive in a straight line (for very long) has annoyed me intensely. My previous car was tracked once in 11 years and drove as straight as die (and never had unevenly worn tyres).

My fronts have more wear on the outer edges but even on both sides. Maybe its a fault of the W204. I don't experience any pulling though.

Mine to, always been slightly biased to the left from new.
due to German roads camber and cars being biased to the left and driving on the other side of the road.

just put Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics on my S204 - 225/45 R17 on the front and 245/40 R17 on the rears, EU rating CAA, impressed with the ride and quietness, haven't pushed the limits but grip seems excellent. Sourced from Tyreleader, total £307 delivered.

I agree with Chris, the F1 Asym are brilliant. Go for them.

I'm also experiencing a very slight pull to the left on my 13 plate C250, but my RH front Conti edges are totally worn down (outside more than in) and with still a few mm's tread left in the middle of the tyre.

Soon after purchasing my car I had taken it in to the local ATS centre to have the wheels balanced. The technician there did highlight to me that the C Class W204 tend wear the tyres out on the outside edges on the front.

Saying that I had a Honda Accord a few years back and when I was shown the rear tyres at 18,000 miles (where I bought the car brand new) the tyre was well out of shape, caused by the camber setting Honda put on the car.

I don't think any car is perfect for even tyre wear, but the pulling is something different, as I'm not experiencing this my current C Class.

I've never experienced this whilst driving any new German car on our fleet.

Some are, but it's normally not the car's fault, it's the state of our road's, at least it keeps one very alert having to continually swerve to avoid them..
