That’s the ‘should’ bit of the question! Personally, I’d feel pretty uncomfortable with it.That thought occurred to me, but it has passed three whilst in my ownership
Yes, was advertised with AMG wheels. The car was bought from an esteemed member/dealer of this forum and I am 100% confident he would not have known the situation. I mean, who checks all wheels are correct? It was only when they came off an were stripped down ready for powder coating it became apparent! I am guessing they laid the rims out and someone thought "just a minute, something looks wrong!"What's the statute of limitations on a car you've bought being "not as advertised"? Car has had 3 MoT's in Gollum's ownership so assume he bought it 3-4 years ago, car should not have mis-matched rims on one axle, plus was advertised with AMG wheels which it does not seem to have. Is it too late to "suggest" the selling dealer should correct the error??
Given that the same tyre types will be on each wheel, not sure if would matter in the real world? That is an open question BTW, not a digThat’s the ‘should’ bit of the question! Personally, I’d feel pretty uncomfortable with it.
I don’t know but, as I say, I’d be uncomfortable with it and would want to correct it asap. Presumably it would just need one wheel changing whichever way you went (2 x broad & 2 x narrow or 4 x narrow). That should give a bit more scope for searching on eBay or the likes.Yes, was advertised with AMG wheels. In fact, I am even loath to mention it to him - after all what can he do!!

Ta. Searched and cannot find a matching wheel anywhere (design is shown in my profile pic)That is not ideal. I would be looking at picking up a loose 8J one to make a proper set.
I mean aslong as you use the same profile tyres on an axle then it will pass the MOT as the inspector won't be able to tell without having each alloy side by side the difference.
It is still not great and not what i would chose to fit on my car
Personally i would go back to the dealer and see what they say. You never know they may be willing/able to help you out even if it means buying a couple of cheap alloys the correct size. I wouldn't feel comfortable driving with mis-matched wheels on an axle but then there is also an argument that you've been driving around for years without issue. Could you hold fire on the refurb of two of the wheels to free funds to buy two used wheels that match?Ta. Searched and cannot find a matching wheel anywhere (design is shown in my profile pic)
Between a rock and a hard place sadly

Oops! 3 x 18X8.5JJ and 1 x 18X8JJI seem to have 3 x 18X8.5JJ and 1 x 18X8.5JJ
That'll be 4 the same then.
My e350 has 4 x 8.5 rims fitted with 235 tyres, front . And 255 rears.
AFAIK it's illegal to run with different sizes on the same axle . Tyres or rims .
That is quite possible - we think the guy who sold the car on took off the original AMG wheels and appears to have simply thrown any old wheels on!Steve, you really have no choice but to either source a single 18x8J rim to have a staggered setup with different size tyres front and rear, something like 225/45 front and 245/40 rear (as I have on both my cars) or source a single 18x8.5JJ and have the same size tyres all round. Are there any part numbers etc stamped on the inside of the rims, I tried Google for the 18x8JJ 113 6818 I could see from the first photos you showed on here and the first suggestion from Google was that that it was a BMW wheel!

That's the issue - a matching rim is proving impossible to find! Trying to find the MB part nuber as we speakOr source another 8.5 rim and still have a staggered set up.

Same set up as my e350 . 8.5 rims , staggered tyres. Mb part numbers will on the rims fitted now . If not then they're copies. That's the issue - a matching rim is proving impossible to find! Trying to find the MB part nuber as we speak
