Bit of a weird one but if you can help it would be appreciated

How? Where? Who? Can you dispose of used tyres, I don't mean a few I mean over ten thousand!
Will people buy them?
Will they dispose of them for free?
Is there any value to them?

TIA
Terry

local tip

unfortunately you will have to pay for tyre disposal... this is why when you have tyres changed, they will charge you for "casing disposal"

We pay anything from 50p-£2 a tyre to get them collected and disposed of in the right way.

Your tip wont accept them and you will have a problem getting rid of so many tyres for sure.

What about asking Jonathan Palmer? He has a few motor racing circuits and what do you see round all the corners?

Tyre Barriers!

This is the problem.
My friend has to pay and they have been dumped on him.
It's a long story but quickly he rented out a unit to a "respectable" character and they have filled it with these tyres and done a runner. He is now responsible for there disposal and as Jay says he has to pay!!!!
He has been turned over for the rent of the unit and now has a unit he cannot rent because it is full of tyres! The police can't do anything!!!!

be buggered, old tyres always used to be worth money...

try exporting them.

..or start a revolution. They burn well in barricades.

Africa tends to use tyres to their last; it's not uncommon to see rusting tyres... I wonder what the export/import regulations are...

Worth finding the scrappies that are hoarding all the older Mercs for export ?

Might be an avenue for making a few quid - just needs a decent lorryload (or two)

They use old tyres for a few other things as well.... too horrible to mention :(

I was under the impression that tyre manufacturers somehow recycled the rubber compound ?

The steel belts would also have a value .

It is really a problem of finding the right buyer .

As above , the tyres cannot just be dumped for environmental reasons .

Here , in Strathclyde , dumping of tyres on vacant ground has become a major problem since the disposal charge came in , due to unscrupulous traders avoiding said charges which are quick to add up . The neds then come along and set them alight , so we have to go and put the fires out , otherwise toxic smoke pollutes nearby homes . A case of an ill thought out scheme backfiring and having the opposite effect to that intended .

Put them on ebay.... You never know some pikey might buy them
