Upgrade from Audio20

Hi everyone.

I'm interested in upgrading my Audio20 (cassette) to W211 E-CLASS, MB Part number: A 211 870 00 89 001, Model No: 7039. I've seen these advertised on Ebay. Now I don't care about the satellite navigation as there are no maps for Pakistan

, but I'd like to watch movies and stuff.

I keep getting mixed reports on if this will work or not. Some say I need a Audio Gateway, but I've been told that since mine is an early car with a cassette system, it has an audio gateway! How can I tell for sure!!! I can provide my VIN number if this helps!

In case of a radio casette or APS 50 the audio gateway is ready in the boot of the car.

Where in the boot is it? Is it near the fuse box that's in the boot?

I am also interested in replacing an existing Audio20 from an E-Class built May 03. Quite sure it doesn't have the audio gateway but has 6310i phone and CD Changer in dash.

What parts will one need to do it? I understand the car interior will have to be gutted to reinstall audio wiring.

Oh. It is an CD only Audio20 unit.
