I have just ordered a E350 with the command system.

Since the system uses a hard drive how do I go about updating the GPS maps in the future?

Any idea of the charges involved?

Hence the reason I didn't have Comand, I went for Tomtom.

Yes, but..............

1. A car WITH comand will always retain much higher residuals.
2. COMAND is not just a satnav. It does far more.
3. A separate satnav unit is more likely to be stolen.

But these are all things which have been discussed 100's of time before and everybody has their own individual take on this subject.
Nobody is right or wrong. It depends on your individual priorities and needs. :thumb:

Can Comand be set up to give speed camera warnings?

Correct, but it also cost over £2k more

Absolutley
3. A separate satnav unit is more likely to be stolen.
Correct again, but I always remove sat nat as I also use it in my van

Also my new Tomtom has access to Google, I should now be able to find anything anywhere now!!!!

got a tomtom 5y ago. Never updated maps and its still fine for 99% of everywhere we go.

I would not lose too much sleep over updates.

Its not always necessary to have the very latest map
