As the title really,im after some sports suspension for my e320 cdi, wondered if anyone happened to have any lying around, either coilovers or sports springs and shocks.please pm, thanks

Nobody does coilovers for the W210.

The standard brakes with uprated pads will be fine...unless you will be doing track days.

Sports Suspension

Hi Monte.
We can supply you with all upgrade parts at reasonable prices. Bilstein and Eibach would be good as an upgrade etc... Email me at [email protected] and let me know if we can help. We've got stuff for a few members already so only too happy to help Merc family people.

Ive seen a few coilover kits for 210,but they cost 1200 for a decent set.Im after E55 brakes or similiar as track days are part of my plan.Harrybutt il drop you an email.

You can indeed get coilover kits for the 210 but as you know they are expensive. Saying that, I once did see a kit for around £500 but it wasn’t from a reputable manufacturer so it is probably useless on a track.

Suspension kits are probably your best option in terms of value and performance.

There is currently a kit being sold by ECP on ebay:
Bilstein B12 Suspension Kit SE5-8177 Mercedes E Class W210 Saloon (06/97-06/99) | eBay

Or you could check out this link for other manufacturers:

I'm confused about coilovers.
Why are they better than a standard spring and damper setup other than adjustable ride height?

Many argue that the adjustable ride height is the crucial advantage of coilovers as it enables you to fine tune your suspension to a “perfect” set up thus improving handling to a greater extent.

So do Mercedes rubber spring pads, which are about £5.

Well obviously they are limited in the adjustments they can make to your ride height but I get your point and this is partly the reason as to why I didn’t bother with coilovers ;)

As I have already said (on another thread):

Guys...you cannot, repeat cannot get coilovers for the W210...they will send you a separate spring and shock absorber...don't be fooled by the pictures. I will eat my hat if someone finds a photo of a coilover fitted to a W210.

Don't worry Will, they are not available for our cars.

Shame on ECP for putting a misleading photo in their Ebay ad...not everyone reads the small print.

That and the fact you couldn't actually get them.

Ok I will take your word for it I don’t want you to lose your hat!

With regards to ECP, I suggested it as a suspension kit and not as a coilover kit therefore I was clearly already aware of this fact. In future, perhaps you should spend some time reading the essential information (i.e. the title) before rushing to read the all important small print.

That and the fact you couldn't actually get them.

Thank you for this useful fact

Thanks for the sarcasm, but you said "you can indeed get coilover kits for the 210"... in contradiction to what I had said. Whether you call it a kit or anything else, it is not a coilover, and is indeed not available for the 210.
