Urgent: SL Steering Wheel Dilemma

Hi all...

I've just purchased the following steering wheel for £215, only now to realise that i may not be able to use my existing airbag (is this right?):

What should i do. Anyone know how much a new airbag will cost? Where can i pick one up?

Ooops. Cant see you been able to use your old airbag, but a new one to fit should cost about £150 ish. Id go for a nice one with a chrome star in the middle. Check out the classifieds,Mercman or do a search for "used merc parts"

I may have an airbag that will fit - its from a 202, but I imagine its the same.

No chrome star - just plain black.

Will check the part number shortly, and let you know.

How can you definitely know which will fit?

Is the new wheel black or grey ? I only ask, as my bag is definitely black / anthracite, and will look awful with a grey wheel.

I know it will physically fit the wheel, as had exactly the same one on my 202, with black maple wood - just depends whether the airbag connector is any different on the 129.

My airbag is from a 99 facelift W202 .... anybody know if it will fit ?

Thanks for replying again! I thought i'd pick up the steering wheel before coming back to you... now that i have, it is definitley jet black.

Would taking a picture of the reverse of the wheel etc help confirm if your airbag will fit or not (connector?)? If anyone else can comment it would be really appreciated.

The airbag connectors are pretty much all the same for that generation of vehicles. The w203 has a different connector (actually two connectors) and the w211 is probably the same, but 124/129/170/202/208/210 etc will be the same connectors - they all share the same wheels and airbags etc.
