Not bad for a yanky muscle car....

Not a patch on an AMG....

Awesome! I love renting yank tanks when I go over there.

Been driving a Dogde Charger today. Not bad really.

But my god some of the American cars I rent (I usually go for something different every time I'm over here - 1 in every 3 weeks) are terrible!

I haven't tried a Camaro yet. It's on my list. As is a GLK.

I've done the SRT Charger, Camaro SS and Mustang GT now... All sound great but I don't think they are that quick.... I'm going to try some of their pickups next....

I'm flying out to LA on Thursday and am renting that same car - Camaro SS!!

We're driving to San Francisco then back down to Palm Springs in week one, followed by a second week in Hawaii where we're renting a Dodge Challenger R/T. I totally don't need a car in Hawaii but it's just rude not to - and I love the fact Hertz have their Adrenalin range to rent some of this muscle from :)

I drop it back Thursday night Andrew.... They have a black, white, red and yellow one... I wanted the yellow but it was out..... I'm going to find a quiet road later tonight to waste some rubber....

What does it drive like?

I rented a Corvette back in '09 and thought it was great...I don't imagine the Camaro is Corvette level (but it wasn't that much cheaper to rent though)

It's actually a nice drive.... I drove down to San Diego and was having some fun with a 211 shape E63 and a GT3RS.... In and out of the traffic.... Loads of toys, handles ok, I'm going to test it more later as I was tired....

Cheers Lee, I must give that back to you... It didn't fit as you'd stretched it in the **** department....

No worries Greg, it's what mates are for.

But maybe next time try it on before you walk down the street in it though, eh pal?

I had a GMC Yukon XL recently, basically the utilitarian version of a Cadilac Escalade.

It was brand new, 2013 model' and the steering wheel is offset to the left of the driver. I kid you not that in this day and age they cannot make a car where the steering wheel is in front of you.

Fun enough to roll around in though, 2 armchairs and a sofa with a loverly V8 rumble, and perfect for 4 snowboarders heading into the Canadian wilderness.

i always go with hertz and have rented some decent cars, couple of hummer H2''s which were great in the snow, one of those Mustang race spec with the bonnet pins in black with the gold stripes, then a corvette which was cool, so easy to unintentionally get the rear out when doing u-turns and i loved the HUD!

Off to Orlando on Sunday and couldn't resist hiring that Camaro SS from Hertz. They are so cheap. Probably wont get to open it up that much but you've gotta do it.

very nice as a rental unfortunately last time i was in florida i had my ex wife and 3 kids with me so we only got int a grand caravan :(

Last time I was over there I upgraded from the 2.7 V7 300C to the 5.4 V8 Hemi, drove like a wobbly tank but sounded good :)

Managed to do Las Vegas (McCarron) airport to Beverly Hills in 3 hours 40 mins which was pretty decent considering we hit rush hour in LA :D

I love the Yank Tanks when in the US and can't wait to go back to Vegas next year!

What sort of money is "so cheap"?

I thought £460 for 8 days was great value for 400bhp
