Hi Ive got a Dec 2010 c350 cdi with command and am having a nightmare getting music to work with the USB cable in the glove box.

Works perfect with my ipod, but i decifed id rather leave a memory stick in the car.. Copied my whold itunes folder to stick and it just wont read it properly. Sometimes it just sits saying initialising device for ages and seems tp do. Nothing.. If i pull it out and back in a gain it sometimes starts to play anfd rhen all disappears and just says device not compatible. Its just all over thr place.

Any ideas please ?

Ive tried a sandisk cruiser 32gb stick and a TDK 8gb stick and both do the same. Do i need to formst a certain way or is there something im missing.

Both formatted to fat32

Thanks in advance.

Depends on the format of the music files on the USB.

I have all mine in MP3 format. I'm not sure non apple devices can read iTunes data file prior to conversion.

Thanks buddy.

however most of my music is in MP3 format too.. I just point itunes at that folder.

really getting on my nerves now.

I think the way around is not to move them from iTunes but from the Media or Music folder. Put the albums or playlists into separate folders first, before putting them on the memory stick or it will appear as one long list in Comand by file name (numbers).

Edit: It occurred to me that if you are using a PC, Windows Media, unless you have deactivated the "automatically keep copy" will also store the MP3 tracks.
