Vibration/stutter At 1,800rpm

I have been experiencing a vibration/stutter in the acceleration on my 2003 W211 E270CDI (81,000 miles) for a couple of months. I have checked the radiator and have the BEHR unit fitted. Any one experience of similar, or know a likely cause. I am thinking about swapping to a Range Rover TD6 for fear of impending workshop bills.

Hi there, if you have not already done so, change the transmission fluid and filter before you start worrying or doing something so drastic as moving to the dark side.!!

Bet this cures it !!!!!!

Thanks for the advice

Had the transmission fluid and filter changed today, fluid was thick black indicating it had never been changed during 82,000 of driving. Gearbox smooth now. Needed rear shocks and tyres too so £817 lighter but worth it. Thanks again for the advice.
