viscous coupling

I am still not convinced by the storage thing like i said in my earlier post the truck fan hubs are stored any old how and they are £840 each:eek: and if it was that important they would defo be stored upright.

Plus if it was posted to you it could be in any position possible as parcel man wouldnt keep it upright would he?

Sounds like it was working correctly, as in cutting out after a mile when cold and maybe still is ie have you an engine problem which the fan is trying to keep under control?

Well, my official Mercedes manual catagorically states that they must always be kept upright. They ARE packaged to show proper standing position.

It may briefly be laid on the flange side for installation purposes BUT NEVER on the front side.

This applies to temperature controlled viscous fan couplings.

I thought that but I didn't have any problems beforehand. I will check the oil level tonight, It was 3/4 up the mark when I looked on Saturday and I'll double check the coolant level, but it was only serviced and the coolant flushed less than 2,000 miles ago :crazy:
