ViseeO MB-2 Low Volume

Hi all, I have a ViseeO MB-2 which has been working fine for the last 3 months or so. Suddenly it has lost volume when on a call. The comand volume does work but even at full volume it is still very faint.

I have tried the unit in another car and it is exactly the same and I have tried the other car's cradle in my car and that works fine. I have also tried another bluetooth phone with the MB-2 and it has almost no volume either. People on the other end on the call can hear me without any trouble.

The firmware in the unit is 02135008023 which has not changed since I got the unit. The comand and phone firmware have also remained the same.

Is there a reset procedure or similar I need to follow to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance
Stewart

I helped Stewart with this and it seems odd to me why this should suddenly stop working properly when nothing else has changed. There is mention on the Viseeo website that the latest CPU firmware upgrade addresses volume issues so we'll give this a try but it still seems an odd fault. Anyone else experienced this?

We've seen a handful of units do this. Normally software upgrade and a master reset (hold 2nd button for 10 seconds then press bottom button and let go of both together)
- if not, we replace under warranty.

Cheers

And another one...

I may be getting in touch with you about this during the week. The MB-2 I bought from yourselves in February has done exactly this starting yesterday. It was also accompanied by some flaky connections to my Touch HD.

I've tried updating the MB-2 software, and a master reset and re-pairing and it is doing the same thing. I tried my phone with my bluetooth Jawbone and it is working fine there, and also with the £30 cheapo Bluetooth visor module in the W124, so I don't think it can be a phone fault.

It is a shame as it had been working fine, pairing with two different phones, and had really been the cream on the cake with the Comand system. Is there anything else I can try, or do I just need to get an RMA from yourselves?

After the upgrade and full reset, did it go straight to flashing the PAIR light, and then you had to pair your phone again ?

If not, you didnt get the full reset done.

Also, the latest firmware is 02140011026 - hold down the top two buttons for 5 seconds when paired and you will see an incoming call, the number should match that.

Hi Richard,

Yep, I'm pretty sure I have followed the reset instructions correctly. Though it is a little hit and miss, sometimes it goes through and pair light flashes, other times it does not, and I am doing the same thing.

I've had to pair the phone again afterwards. I can confirm that using the firmware check I am using the latest version. Also, my wife has confirmed that when she was driving using her phone (SE W850) it was doing the same thing - no volume.

Not sure what else to do now apart from send it back. It is of no use at the moment. Any other ideas?

I had this problem for the second time today. The first time I sent it off to Command Online for an upgrade and it came back working fine. Great service I received too.

Today, the problem reappeared. I have an i-Phone and discovered that when connected to a call, if I press the volume keys on the side of the phone the 'Bluetooth Volume' appears on the i-Phone screen and I can adjust to a higher level.

My suggestion to anyone having a low volume problem is to find out how to adjust the bluetooth volume on their handset. If that does not work, pay Command Online £25 for an upgrade. It's worth the money as when the Viseeo works, it's 10 x better the the Mercedes SAP Cradle.

MB-2 low volume problem fixed

Hi,

My viseeo mb-2 started the low-volume problem that everyone seems to be getting. Mine was out of warantee, and so was sat in a drawer for the last 6 months. I was about to bin it during a tidy up, but gave the flash rom fix one last try. This time the fix worked 100%. Did the following in case anyone wants to try to replicate this:

1) I downloaded the PC software from viseeo website, and installed it.
2) Downloaded the CPU and bluetooth firmwares
3) I first plugged the CPU cable into the back of the viseeo (NOT the mini USB cable) and into my PC USB slot. Windows 8 automatically installed the driver - I did not follow the driver install instructions. During the install windows told me it had added COM 3.
3) I ran the viseeo software and flashed the CPU software to COM 3.
4) I tried to repeat this process for the bluetooth firmware, but windows 8 refused to allow me to install the correct drivers.
5) I switched to a windows 7 machine and followed the instructions with viseeo to install the mini usb driver needed to install the bluetooth firmware.
6) I flashed the new bluetooth firmware to the device following instructions provided with it.
7) I deleted viseeo from my bluetooth phone (Galaxy S2)
8) Installed viseeo back in car
9) Master reset viseeo according to instructions provided with device
10) turned on comand
11) paired with phone
12) tested it - and hey presto all was working as it should be again

I cannot say exactly which steps are needed - as you can see I struggled having to use both windows 8 and 7 machines - but the end result was good and it does now work correctly.

Hope this is useful to someone....

Perfect - we tell customers to do the factory reset twice - sort of ensures it is done, and it is a vital step in the "low volume" fix

We also tell people *never* ever ever disconnect during the bluetooth update - it seems to stick at various points (particularly 85%) and if you don't let it finish your ViseeO becomes a brick.

Hi All.
I seem to have the same problem with my Viseeo MB-2. I've tried all the above fixes, including the Viseeo site updates. While I managed to flash the CPU with a Windows 7 PC, I cannot install the driver for the standard Bluetooth USB cable! I've tried to install the driver as per the instructions but neither Windows XP SP3, Vista or Windows 7 will allow the install of the Bluetooth driver. There are no other BT devices on the pc's i'm using. In fact when pairing the MB-2 to the pc, the BT light and the pair light stays on after holding the No1 button for the pc to see the hardware. Is this normal? I also checked the firmware version which is upto date - 02140011026.
(MB-2 Purchased in December 2010. Phone- iphone 3GS. E200 2007)
This is the report I get from Vista:

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks all. :thumb:

Thanks for that Richard.
I got it sorted after playing around with the Device Manager settings in Windows 7. As the Viseeo BT driver isn't digitally signed,it would seem it must be installed manually. Back up and running now anyway, so Happy days!!

Thanks again,
John. :thumb:
