You'll have a great time, I presume it's the one at Tulliallan? Great place and a lot of history there as well. I did some work with them when I did a spell as an Instructor at Knockhill when I lived in Scotland. Traffic was headed up by a guy called Mike Cleary I think, A great jovial chap with a wicked sense of humour.
You might actually get a spin out in some of the taffic cars too, they were very pro active when it came to car clubs and as most of the Scottish forces use MB I would have thought they would be very receptive to you.

Ian , yes it's Tulliallan - although I've also written in separately to the Road Policing Unit at Govan ( by 'snail mail' since I didn't have an email address for the unit ) , so may yet get a visit there as well .
I used to visit Tulliallan regularly about 25 years ago with IAM/LSD groups and always found them enjoyable evenings , also did a fair bit of training myself ( some of the instructors gave up their own time to help us out ) before I started teaching advanced driving myself , and teaching others to give instruction (which can be a hard thing to do in itself !) .
I guess the numbers will fill up tonight once people come home and go online - but you're as welcome as anyone to put your name down if you fancy a trip up here .

Thanks Derek would love another trip and would have put my name down but when I went over to the Scottish meets Thread I see it is limited to 6 people so as I have been many times before I thought it only fair to let others have the oportunity. Also it's probably likely to be the time when we go away on holiday, nothing booked yet but I would hate to put my name down for something as good and prestigious as this and then have to withdraw.
As regards the Road Policing Unit In Govan a friend of mine who lives in Prestwick, his wife works on the RPU based out of Govan so if you don't get a response let me know and I'll ask her to chase it. Been there a few times to pick her up with my mate and had a brief look around again a very interesting place and a different side to Police work than the Driver Training college.

That would be a great day and very interesting to see the cars. Edinburgh use alot of E-Class's and they look brilliant in police livery
