Vito 113 1998 Petrol (cracked head) heartbroken...please help

Dear all,

My beloved camper van engine has a cracked head after an overheat (I took it to an awful garage) and I am desperate to get it mended, so any help would be hugely appreciated please.

I've been to several garages and they say they can't source the necessary parts.

Does anyone know anyone who could help me source the parts, or could I maybe even buy some other Mercedes engine and ask for the engine to be replaced? Like have a diesle installed maybe instead?

I am very mechanically ignorant, so please bear with me.

I can't bear to scrap her just because of an engine over heat. She has less than 100,000 miles on the clock and is in perfect condition other than her very sad engine.

A recon head should be not that difficult to source and fit....not too expensive either......If that's all that's wrong.
