Hey, it's your motor, your dosh, and it's only an opinion.
Bear in mind whenever I say I would like to spend a few quids on my Vito Mrs Me tells me not to spend the money. She's bigger than me so she must be right, and her style (or lack of it) must be rubbing off.
Not that I'm bigger than you.

Sod that just buy it, fit it, job done.. cant beat a few mods or new parts!! My Vito has the spec of a Viano now cause of it.

Tyres ordered:

Fulda Sportcontrol 2
235/55/17 103Y XL
FUEL B
WET GRIP A
NOISE 68db

will be here by the end of the week along with Alloys and Daves centre caps. I’ll have them fitted at the weekend.
Also ordered MB Dust caps and Gunmetal grey brake calliper paint.

Spotted some drilled brake discs that I may consider. Existing ones are part worn so maybe replace with drilled when necessary to complete the chavtastic look. 😎

Which gunmetal grey caliper paint did you go for mate ? Was it this one that looks to be a good product?

Unfortunately not mate. You have a keen eye. Should have asked you first.

ordered this:

Doesn’t come with 260 degree heat resistant brush like yours does. 🙄

😁

Hi Ant, I've not bought it yet but hate the crabby dirty look of the calipers, I've painted mine with silver hammerite in the past but it gets dirty again quite quickly. Hate the boy racer red & your choice of dark grey seemed to fit the car which is also dark grey. Just looking that's all, no plans to do the job yet

Update:

I finally got around to having the new alloys and tyres fitted. Very happy with them and the higher profile tyres on the 17's are very comfy over the bumps and gloriously quiet. Glad I didn't go for the 18's.

I had the re-map installed at Carlisle on Saturday. made a major difference especially when towing the trailer. It's a quantum map (same as I had in my last 2 vans. Not noticed any difference in MPG just yet but the extra low down torque is very noticeable and welcome. The auto box no longer over revs like it did. I guess that's because the engine can handle the load because of the increased torque? All in all very pleased. Only regret is that I waited 4 years to get it done.

New leather wrapped steering wheel has arrived from Jack @Royal Steering Wheels. I've very happy with the appearance of it and quality of the work. It's much chunkier than the original plastic one. I'm going to fit it tomorrow evening then send my existing wheel back to him.

I had a price from the local bodyshop to paint front and rear bumpers (white). He will also paint the existing grill in high gloss black along with the mirror housings. Seeing as he wants the van for 3-4 days we have agreed to book this work in for December as I'm off work for the whole of the month.

I'm currently sourcing LED replacement bulbs for the headlight units.

I've ordered full LED rear light units with Audi style sequential indicators for the full Chavtastic look!

The irony is I started this project when I started back to work after having 3 months at home.

Sounds like the mods are coming along well. Are you going to lower the van at all? I fitted H&R lowering springs front and rear on mine as I think they just sit far too high on standard suspension set up. This is mine with H&R lowering springs fitted. Still sits quite high at back, but I haven't got much load in it. I actually have since had to take the front lowering springs off and fit different springs with less drop as I have now fitted wider 19" wheels with more aggressive offsets so the tyres were rubbing a bit over bumps now and again. Springs well worth fitting if keeping with 17's though IMO.IMG_6316.JPG

This is mine now on 19x9's Et45 with 245/45 tyres. Rear H&R's still fitted which give approx 30mm drop. NIMG_7206 - Copy.JPGew sport shocks and springs off the brand new Vito Sport released couple of months ago on the front which give a drop of around 10mm. I do not carry much load in mine so it actually makes for a level ride set up. Generally Vito's sit higher at the back compared with rear unless they are pretty fully loaded.

I see you've hit the major problem of Vito's, when you start it's difficult to stop.
Nice update btw.

Not noticed any difference in MPG

Is this on brim to brim calculation, if so how many miles?
Or are you going off the obc?

I'm currently sourcing LED replacement bulbs for the headlight units.

I'm assuming these would have load resistors (Canbus error correction).
Can you be sure that the beam pattern isn't going to be corrupted, be careful you don't trust everything claimed in China?

Sorry for delayed reply.

The OBC is telling me that the MPG is virtually unchanged and it’s been confirmed by a couple of brimmed tanks. I’m made up with the remap.

Yes, cambus error free. Beam pattern is also 360 degree adjustable so should be sweet.

Just ordered a Rhino 7 bar roof rack + Stainless steal Full width rear Roller together with Rhino 6 step Fixed rear door ladder. Anything to make my working day that bit easier.

Best part is that the van with Roof rack & double youngman ladders attached will still go underneath my Hormann garage door each night. 👍

I have a cool surfboard here you can strap on top.

I need to obtain 4x TPMS valves to suit a w447 Vito.
Local garage is quoting me £50ea inc vat. I doubt they will be genuine MB items.

Can anyone help me source any Valves cheaper online? Not bothered if they are genuine or aftermarket as long as they work.

These any good?
