Vito wheels

I asked CIS today and got the same reply - changing the wheels would make it a "modified vehicle" ... which they would no longer cover.

i fitted 20 inch wheels think they are 8.5. its the tyres which make the difference ive found. i first had 245/35/20's on but they were too small. then i fitted 275/35/20 but the front were just a bit too big as the rubbed on inner plastic. changed them to 255/35/20.....just right. oh dont forget, these arnt cheap tyres. new ones are about 250 each! my next set are to be 285/35/20 on rear and sticking with 255/35/20 on front. hope this helps.:dk:

hi, milky can i talk to you about your 20" alloys.

Might be an old post but just insured my new Viano with 20" ml alloys no problem with Swinton insurance, only had one stumble when it came to transferring NCB from van to car.

The current Viano Avantgarde has 19" as standard.

how wide are the 20,s and et , any side profile pics would be great,

There ML alloys et48 with 255/35/20 tyres.
Ride is fine, Balancing is my problem, I have fitted cheep tyres and thats a mistake, Mytyres are on the case, not fit for use, so a refund and exchange ball ache.

Are those aftermarket side-bars or are they that profile at the ends as standard these days, Zenman?

Looks very nice indeed BTW. :thumb:

There aftermarket, I removed them yesterday and refitted with Stainless bolts and in a better position.
They where full of water! two 4mm holes in each sorted that out on the bottom.

Ah, I thought they might be aftermarket ones but hoped that MB had come up with a better solution than these.

If I could get new end caps I would be happy, but I doubt they exist.

Very nice, got some side on and rear angle shots pls?

nice, l assume the wheels are 9 inch , l like the stretched look of the tyre. it looks as if its running 235 wide...

Yes 9 " wide with 255/35/20 tyres.

No problems rubbing.

Could go wider tyres on the rear, 275/35/20

That looks like rust and a steel cap not even stainless.

Like I said when I removed mine as it had rusty steel bolts it was half full of water, when I drilled two holes the water ran out clean so good quality stainless.
All refitted with stainless bolts and washers.

didnt change a thing. i always carry a heavy load so it looks lower than the average vito. and as the wheels/tyres are slightly bigger they fill the arches better. i think the ride is better, but having just taken a chunk out of a tyre and rim:mad: by hitting a curb, ive now got to get them refurbed. only downside with big rims on work vans.

Hey, I've just joined and was reading about wheels. I'm running 20" with 245 40 and I agree they look small and stretched on 8.5 rim.
Id be interested to see your photos with the wider options as I'm going to change mine.

Hi, I am looking at replacing the current 16" wheels.
What is the largest I can install without having to replace springs etc..
Has anybody installed 19"x8.5s?

thanks

I have a set of these for sale. They wouldn't fit my car (ET). I think they may be from a Vito. All legal tyres.
Centres 5 x 112. Dia 18". ET 44. Tyres 245/45R18 100w XL (extra load.)
I'll let them go for £300 if anyone on here's interested.
