w114 front wings

Hi I'm after a pair of genuine front wings for a post face lift w114/w115, good used or new. Been warned off using pattern ones by my bodyshop who've used them before and had real problems. Any leads or advice would be really apreciated. I'm keeping an eye on ebay and ringing breakers yards but nothing so far.

I was at a breakers yard in West Drayton (Middlesex) about 2 weeks ago that had 2 w114 coupes, but I didn't look closely enough to see if the wings were salvageable. Might be worth a call though. Link below.

An original wing is likely to be 40 years old. Even if it was replaced, say 20 years old. Whilst the price may be high, the real miracle is that MB still supply them after 40 years. How many do they sell a year? Small production runs = high prices, even if the equipment was amortized years ago. Isn't this service part of why we pay extra for an MB?

im interested were mb source the metal from or if its galv treated ,must be better than the metal used on my 69 w114 coupe

Have you tried some of the specialist suppliers in Germany ?

Thanks for the help. I buy a lot of parts from Merecdes for all the reasons listed but I simply can't afford the wings. Mine can't be salvaged, I can get two fingers behind the head light one side.
