W123 1980 280CE Hello from New Member

Hello from West London.

Have been a 280CE owner since January 2013.

Reviving her back from a peroid of benign neglect and have clocked up 500 miles to date.

Came with 12 months MOT, and a few bodywork and service item challenges that need addressing.
Have already de-mossed the body, cleaned carpets. The following items have been replaced :
- service fluids & filters
- broken blower switch & siezed bowden cable to heater box (warm is good); and
- rigged a small auxiliary battery in the boot to operate the sunfoof

Mine passed the MOT today.

Thanks for the welcomes.

Looking forward to a bit of detailing and fettling this weekend now the weather appears to be warming up.

Need to contemplate the following :

• reinstal the centre console (removed to fit blower switch)
• fix sunroof - no power to switch
• clean and feed leather seats
• re-fit carpets - they're too clean to use now without overmats
• continue to eliminate the musty corpse smell - shampoo headliner and spray Febreze into backs and undersides of seats
• find correct bolts for Mexican Hat Alloys
• re-seat the leaking radiator hose between thermostat housing and block.
• bleed brakes - fluid is black. Change flexible hoses
• change fuel filter
• general de-mossing and cleaning duties. Tail light picture shows typical condition when I collected her.
