In older cars it's normally best to stick with IAT coolant which is normally the blue coloured stuff. Any motor factor or parts place will have it. It's frequently sold as 2 year coolant, as opposed to the red OAT 5 year coolant.

Oil filters aren't expensive from the dealer, but ECP sell Hengst who make a lot of the filters that MB dealers sell, so imho you may as well save a few quid and buy from ECP with the discount code mbclub30.

It would be worth googling the oil spec for the specific engine you have(I'm sure others will chime in with this info), is it an m103 2.8? but I'd imagine a good semi synthetic 10w/40 would be more than up to the job.

Hi , on the M110 engine , which your car has , the oil filter is at the rear end of the engine , behind the induction manifold .

I used to run mine on Duckhams 20/50 , but when this became unavailable I switched to the 'high mileage' variant of Castrol GTX .

As for coolant , any decent brand ought to be OK .

I use 10w40 in that engine. I get the filters from MB. not expensive and always correct!
