I'm gonna make it short.

Haven't started car for about a month. and when i turn the key to "start" point, it wont crank the starter. i have tried to run a cable from the battery to the starter, that worked.

so i guess I'm wondering about a diagram from the ignition key to the starter, where it runs through and such.

Thanks, Hofstad.

Not much there, key switch, Auto box inhibitor switch, starter.

I think i found the problem, so there is a wire from the key switch(violet) to the transmission, and then from the transmission up(violet/white), next to the fuse box at a connector, and then down to the starter. Problem is that i get +12 from the violet wire from the key, but not down at the transmission, so either there is a break in the cable, or a bad connection somewhere, if the cable is connected somewhere from the key to the transmission(violet cable).

So i have been looking around next to the key switch and down, but cant seem to find a "socket" where the cable might be connected, got any clue?

If there is just a cable that goes down, i might just replace it with an other wire. but i don't want to pull in the cable if it might be connected somewhere...

Thanks, Hofstad.

I have found the problem!!!! :bannana:

The wire that runs from the ignition key,
via the gearbox and then to the start relay on a 94 mercedes 250 diesel.
The color of the wire is purple from the ignition to the gearbox,
and purple / white from the gear box to start.
I have power out of the ignition,
but it disappears before the gear box.

What I can not figure out is where the purple wire goes before the gear box. :wallbash:

I have looked at some diagrams, but it doesn't seem to show that it is connected via anything

Can anyone help me?
