W124 and Becker Audio 30

I've purchased a Becker Audio 30 cassette to put into my W124 e280 estate and everything works apart from the unit doesn't illuminate which is slightly annoying when its dark! I realise the Audio 30 came after the w124 - is this the problem? Any help would be very welcomed.
