Hi there and welcome to the fourm.First thing to check is the fuse, but you don`t have to remove the ashtrey to get the radio out.

Thanks , i will bring a new fuse tester and will check it. i have a becker europa 2000 (standard) , i removed it's outer cover but couldn't go further. what should i do to get it out? thanks for your fast reply

Uoy don`t need a tester for the fuse.Do you get power on the cig lighter?Reg pulling the stereo.i think is a special tool for it.^He beat me to it

Unfortunately , the cigar lighter is lost . what does "Reg pulling the stereo" mean ? . grober , this link isn't working

HERE YOU GO http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/eurotec/2009-06-03_022035_Remove_install_radio.pdf

If your radio is not exactly the same as this the principle is the same There are usually 2 slots [ sometimes 4 small round holes] somewhere to insert suitable extract tools. What they do is depress spring clips which normally engage with holes in the radio mounting thus allowing it to be drawn out. Different models/makes have slightly different systems/keys but the principle is the same. There is normally 2 "live" connections to the radio one is permanently live and the second is a switched live from the ignition system-i.e. live with the ignition on. If you are careful there is no need to disconnect the battery.

Thanks everybody for the helpful posts. i will try all solutions and will post my progress soon.

i checked all fuses and they where fine. the clock too isn't working . the radio and the clock are in the same circuit. i removed the radio and checked it's connections and it was fine . i guess the radio is ok. so what could be the problem ?

when you say you checked its connections did you check for the presence of 12volts at the 2 power inputs with the ignition on and the radio connected up. test with the radio switched off and with the radio switched on .

no , but i will check it . please check later as i will post soon
