I foolishly cleaned the engine bay on my e220 cab. Used a degreaser and then a watering can with a rose on it to rinse off. Since doing this the car now cuts out every time you take your foot off the accelerator . I have sprayed everything with Wd. But it's still doing it. Any ideas...

I'd start by removing the distributor cap to see if any water has got in and then move on to checking the HT leads and spark plugs.

Look under the cover plate on the top of the cam cover and dry out all the high tension components with a hair drier. You may have to partially dismantle some to get at all the connections. Next port of call would be the throttle assembly area in particular any limit switches. If you have an electronic throttle check the sender at the throttle pedal end. then its just a case of working your way round the engine compartment drying out each electrical component/connection with the hair dryer-- again you might have to partially dismantle to get it dry.

I don't know why people insist in introducing vast quantities of water into the engine compartment of modern cars ---its asking for trouble.
