Can anyone out there help by providing a part number (and notification of where the part number can be found on the part!) of a W124 luggage cover blind and net? I specifically need to know the number for a cover that matches mushroom leather 265, since I am trying to identify the correct part from a distance. Photographs do not reliably show the difference between mushroom / beige, and cream / beige! maybe the trim is the same, and only the seat coverings different? If anyone can help, then I will be grateful.
Thanks
John

be prepared for a nasty shock when you ask the dealers the price.....

over £400

I've got the part number for a grey one (somewhere in the filing system). I'm not sure but i think the part number is stamped on the rear where it clips onto the back seat

If this is a factory option part then I can probably find it in the catalogue, if it's an accessory then there's no chance. I will try to remember to look tonight :)

it's a stock part Shude - it should be listed as a "twin reel blind".

I thought I had the part number on an estimate from when the insurance company replaced mine but it was on a fax and I can't find it at the moment and I can't search the computer it may well be on because it's going to be busy all day

and I have one for sale :D

Thanks for the replies. It seems that mushroom (265) and cream beige (275) are the same colour, but the different codings are used for different cars!! This is why I wanted a specific part no. that was colour specific too. I have located a used blind and net but am trying to confirm colour is correct. This was a main part rather than an accessory. Ian, is the one you have for sale in excellent condition and to match mushroom? I want one which has an unscuffed casing, unmarked blind and good condition net without ragged edges or broken mesh. Thanks.
John

John, as prommised I have checked mine out. Wrong colour for you I am afraid, mine is grey

I can't find it in the catalogue, no mention of a blind or anything in there for the estate.

What exactly is this thing?

it's a standard fitting and it's called a "twin reel blind" which fits behind the rear seats.

half of it is a dog guard and the other half covers the load bay.

very complex. impossible to take apart iof you break it and very expensive to replace

I don't see anything in the boot that looks or reads like it. Maybe it's listed as part of the back seat? I'll check again :)

possibly, it clips to the rear of the double seat in the rear

checking back through the owners handbook it's called a "twin reel spring blind" and I still haven't found the part number for it either :)

There certainly isn't one stamped on the unit

Here is the boot floor.

you are on the wrong page Shude, it will be in the interior trim section

I don't know how I missed it! It's on page 92, "rear seat bench".

listed on the description page as:
"56634 - SV DOUBLE ROLLER BLIND USED AS LUGGAGE AND PASSENGER GUARD"

005 A1248600075 : roller blind (907) x1
008 A1248680914 : bracket, on roof rail, left x2
008 A1248681014 : bracket, on roof rail, right x2
011 A1249900520 : screw, bracket to roof rail x4
014 N912006006002 : lock washer, bracket to roof rail x4
017 A1248680181 : panelling, rear panel door (907) x2
020 A1249880083 : cramp, panelling to rear panel door x2
023 N007982003201 : sheet metal screw, panelling to rear panel door x4
026 A1248600210 : fixture, double roller blind to rear panel door (907) x2

8412 is the colour code for "cream", 275. It is required on the parts listed with footnote (907) against them.

I checked some of the parts on the DC online parts computer and they came back as unavailable/non-existant. This isn't gospel but it's not really good news I'm afraid.

Now I know where to find it, I have found the same stuff on the W202, W203, W210 and W211. It is possible that one of these cars will have similar dimension parts (some look very similar in design/parts) however they are all expensive, the blind itself is 330 euro on the W202.

Many thanks Ian, Andy and Shude,
Your second diagram Shude shows the part (s!) nicely and many thanks for the numerous numbers. You don't by chance have a number like the 8412 for colour code 265 Mushroom do you? Thanks Ian for checking the colour. I have located a second hand but have no way of relaibly checking the colour code, and hoped a part number would help. However, the part nos printed on the parts do not give any indication to colour, and I cannot find where the part number for the roller blind itself is printed anyway (005A1248600075)! It is back to trying to get a good photo I think and hoping that 275 cream and 265 mushroom are indeed the same colour but the different code is used for different ranges.
Thanks for your help though!
Regards
John

VIN please, by PM if you want, I can get the colour code from there.

265 Champignon Mushroom W140 C140 W124 E-model sedan, T-model, coupe, cabrio
275 Champignon Mushroom R129

according to this list (leather codes) they are variations on the same colour but applied to different cars.

you should also get away with

Fabric

005 Champignon Mushroom W202 Classic W124E-model sedan (not E500), T-model, coupe

checked fabric

375 Champignon Mushroom W124 E-model sedan, T-model, coupe, cabrio

Velour

965 Champignon Mushroom W140 C140 W124 sedan (not E500), coupe

MB-Tex

175 Champignon Mushroom W124 E-model sedan, T-model

All the same colour but different numbers - Now I'm really confused :)

Andy

I think that you have proved that they are all the same colour and just codes for different models! The person supplying the two reel blind did think that it was darker than mushroom, but definitely not tan. I think it is probably made to match all colour varieties of mushroom leather, cloth, mbtex and so forth, and so hopefully it is the correct part. If Shude can come up with a colour coded part number, then I should be Ok!
Thanks all.
John
