W124 & Newbie!

Hi chaps

I've just acquired a lovely old 1991 W124. The spoiler on the boot's gone and there's a rust spot on the boot edge. Someone on ebay has a boot and spoiler that looks not bad but it's from an E320 coupe.

Will it fit?

I've attached pictures of both (hopefully!)

Wecome to the forum. Sadly the boot lid from from a coupe will not fit the saloon sadly take a close look at the edges of the 2 boot lids and you will see why.

Just as well really, because that spoiler's horrible.

only spoiler that looks good on a W124 saloon is this one IMO:

it would also cover up your existing holes and the rust patch (once treated of course!)

otherwise i'd get the boot sprayed and the rust and holes repaired/filled.

I do like that spoiler, particularly the way it fits round the whole boot end.

Did you fit it? Can you tell me how to get one perhaps?

It's an AMG Duck Tail, it comes in 3 pieces.
They are usually quite rare, and sought-after.
With AMG stuff (and the pitifully low value of some W124s nowadays), it is not beyond reason to buy an AMG kitted car just for its styling bits...
