It flashes all the time even when the seat belt is buckled up.
I've unplugged and plugged in the wiring connection but the warning light still flashes.

Do you mean the wiring under the seat connected to the seat belt receiver?

Maybe you could use a piece of wire to connect the terminals on the plug which should fool the system into thinking the seat belt is buckled and turn the warning light off. If that works it would indicate that the seat belt reciever is faulty. It just need a spray with contact cleaner.

The seatbelt reminder light works on a timer and should switch itself off.

The seatbelts are not connected to this system at all.

Looks like the 300CE is fitted with a switch for the seatbelt on one side, but the light is directly off the N2/4 module in the instrument cluster

wastedisposal did you ever find a resolution for the problem?

Ive possibly had this problem before.
I had removed all the wiring to the interior dome and then reconnected whilst the door was open.
Result was that while the door was shut the seatbelt lights continually flashed and would only turn off when opening the door.
I disconnected again and this time reconnected with the doors shut, et voila problem solved.

Really? my 300E only flashes up seatbelt reminder when my seat belt is not clipped in, regardless of elapsed time.. :dk:

Mine's on a timer and is activated by doors, might just be the drivers door. Starts flashing everytime the door is opened and shuts up shortly after it's closed (maybe twice the delay of the interior light?) regardless of what's done with belts or ignition/whether the engine is running etc

The circuitry in the light unit can fail and cause this. I cure it by replacing the circuit board or the unit
