Hello

Currently in my posession is a w124 TE220 mercedes
The O/H/R indicator only works when it likes (new and old bulb)
The heator only works partially, left side of the car isnt heating.
And last but not least, with the cold weather, the pulley on the water pump sticks to the pump and stops engine from cranking over. But the pulley isnt making any noise while driving.

Help with resolving the problems is greatly appreciated.
Lots of love

Tolly

I'm guessing you have tried these but.
Wd40 the pulley. Should stop and water ingress and prevent rusting round bearings etc. Or replace.
Check earth connection on the light. Remove clean etc. Could have corrosion in area causing poor connection.
Not sure with regard heater. I'd start at fuse box and then check behind panel to see if anything just not connected or snapped etc.

Hope this helps although it's probably nothing you wouldn't have done already.

Havent went at the heater yet but did others. Thanks for the reply tho, you helped more than others......

Your welcome.
Hope you get it sorted.
I have a similar heater prob in that my Center dash vents above stereo only blow ice cold regardless!!!!
Have assumed a pipe has slipped out of line a bit. Or vent flap is jammed.
Just haven't had the time or inclination to peel back the wood n plastic to see what lurks behind lol.

Looked at heater pipes, one is hot and other is freezing cold!!
Is that due to one being a return pipe??
And is there one or two fuses for heater?

Different model, a '03 C220d, but had the same problem.

Took it back to Independent 'under warranty' where I brought it from and they had to replace the ECU, cost about 320.00.

Hope it's not his problem for you but another thing to ponder about.

pipe temps could be caused by a faulty water pump, or an air lock in the system

i wouuld check for an air lock first, put car on ramps and open water bottle while running at around 3000 rpm for a min or 2, check water leveels, air lock shouuld be forrced out with this procedure, if it is then just top coolant back up and try heaater again.

i am thinking an air lock is more likely, however could be wrong, am guessing that the dual zone heating has 2 seperate matrix's, air lock in one means passenger freezes while driver is toasty warm?

please excuse typos and over keys, knackered wireless keyboard lol

The heater circuit has what is known as a duo valve on the individual returns from the heater unit [ single common feed] This controls the flow though each side of the heater. They often go wrong-lots of posts on this just key in duo valve in the search box.
http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/howto/26888-howto-clean-duovalve-w210.html different car but similar unit.

WRT water pump- have you got antifreeze in the coolant? Are you sure its the water pump? the belt tensioner pulley bearing can often seize on these cars. as can the air conditioning pump.

Your indicators may just be dodgy fuses they tend to get corroded in their holders often a quick clean up of fuse ends + holders cures things. otherwise it might be the convenience module or the convenience relay.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but don't the center vents only provide fresh air unless the car is AC or CC equipped? Just shut it if it's too cold outside.

Correct. Centre vents only give cold unless A/C is permanently on - at least thats how mine is.

Lol. I've since posted about this.
Yes the centres only blow cold. I didnt realise.
Previous cars I've owned had the same function but on the drivers side vent. And it would normally have been switchable between hot/cold.
My mistake entirely.
