W124 Turbo technics kit

Granted I do have an SP30, my premium on Dad's policy is £1,500 after declaring the wheels and bodykit.
I've had the car since I was 19. Back then it was.....are you waiting for it.....£3,000 :o. That's fully comp, named driver with Tesco.

And yup, I've shopped around. On a standard E320 Coupe, with the policy fully in my name, the cheapest quote confused.com came up with was £2,800, and I've tried various other places, all either coming in at over £3,000 (even now), or simply saying they cannot insure me. Hey-ho, the joys of being under 25 with an SP30, I guess

Well Ive had a quote and my premium will go up around 70% after the engine mods are complete.

Did you ever sort out a different diff ? I seem to recall talk of an aftermarket upgrade, maybe from Quaife or similar. I ask as my project is nearing completion and big power + single driven wheel = not good !:)

The likely power output would be 345 bhp on the e320 engine. However, this is NOT a simple bolt on kit. Ive had custom pistons and rods made to lower the compression ratio, Hughes used to have the conrods machined to achieve the same thing. The electronics supplied in the kit are very old now, and would need to be replaced with something like a split second unit. Forum member Janner is also mid project on one of these.

Tesco's might well tear up your club card if you bash it and they find that your are the main driver - let's face it they are losing £1300 a year based upon the assumption that you Dad is the main driver.

My Dad is...erm....the main driver.
