W126 Aircon symbol

Hi,

My a/c rocker switch has the frosty symbol at the bottom and a double line with a wiggle at the top.

Which is meant to be coldest?

The lower ice symbol is the a/c switch, this should bring on a red light. The top position is most effective for demisting the screen. If its really hot use A/C and the recirculate button for quick cooling.

The manuals for the W126 seem hard to find, I have a heap of history and Mot's etc, but no handbook.
