Just had a big shock at Merc dealers who say they want £120 for dizzy cap and rotor arm for a W126 280 se (year 1981)

Euro car parts have quoted £25 for both. However they needed a Merc part number as apparently there are three different caps available. Merc however will not disclose part numbers.

Does anyone have a solution short of having to go to Euro Car Parts and take off the old cap while I am there?

Also Merc said the rotor arm has two pieces...............is this correct as mine doesn't seem to............??
Cheers

I can supply the part numbers if you send me your vin number... my email is sales AT mercland DOT com

I bought a dizzie cap and more than one rotor arm for a 126 from Euro Car Parts.
The cap was fine - No problem.
The quality of a couple of the rotor arms was very poor.
They were poorly-engineered and mis-aligned.
I was prepared to pay a bit more for genuine MB rotor arms.
Don't skimp on rotor arm quality.
It is absolutely essential to the good-running of your car.

Cheers.

If you go to euro make sure you ask for genuine bosch or other OEM parts.. the cheap chinese stuff is rubbish.
