I read many conflicting opinions on when the biodegradable wiring loom was replaced on the W140.
Some say anything after 1995, others say anything after mid 1996 and others say anything after 1997.
Some say that if the later climate control is fitted, then its a car with an updated loom, and then others say that irrespective of year or climate control, it all boils down to, if the car is fitted with the late 'ME'? engine management system.
I have a 1996 Mercedes S280 with the 4 speed auto and the later climate control i have no idea what kind of engine management it has.
I have the following information:
Vin: WDB 140028 2A 297941 [4]
Engine Number: 104944 22 014420
Production Number: 9230739 6
It's a car manufactured for the Australian market (Code 625)
Thanks.
