IS anyone able to tell me whether the holes for bumper washers are pre-cut into a replacement bumper on a W163, or whether the bodyshop cut the wholes and then fit a cover on the washers which covers it?

I need to buy a replacement bumper and I'm unable to find one with headlight washer holes cut in to it. A replacement for MB is £400+VAT and I want to avoid it if I can.

yes the are premolded with holes. ie the bumper with holes is a different part number to one without.

pants. Does anyone know where I can find a list of part numbers for the bumpers? MB wont let me have it and it doesnt show up on the Russian site

MB won't give you the part numbers?

Unusual....have you tried inchcape. They can tell you the part numbers you require and then you can check on the inchcape website for the current retail price, minus 10%. Obviously just look around once you get the part number, breakers is most likely your best option as they will provide a lower price and remember they want to get rid of that car they are dismantling so bargaining could be an option.

I've been trying breakers since January and have filled in multiple forms on broker sites that scan loads of breakers yards with zero luck. I'll give inchcape a look tomorrow

yep, new bumper is £399+VAT from MB and then it needs spraying, and then I need to get my after-market parking sensors fitted. So, by the time MB have finished with their labour charges, it's probably gonna cost me about a grand all-in.

Try another MB dealer, Ive used the ones in that neck of the woods, and they are expensive and unhelpful (won't give part numbers)

Try a dealer elswhere in the country (maidstone are very helpfull) and get them to courier it to you.

To clarify i believe there are two inchcape MBs one is a main dealer and one has a website for retail but isnt an MB dealer.

Im sure if you ask any main dealer for a discount they would be oblige and its a lot less time hassel in finding a decent correct bumper from a scrappy that isnt broken or missing key items.
