W169 Belt

Morning all,

W169 A150 Manual

I am wading through the forum threads, in the meantime has anyone out there actually changed the V belt on an A Class themselves and could pass on any tips such as "Is it a spring loaded tensioner" ?
I find this car very taxing due to lack of a Haynes Manual. (W169)

Possible solution

I read this and having been under a W169 recently it all looks very similar, this may help Bert Rowe's-mercedes-Benz 'A'-class info. Poly 'V' Belt replacement, Crankshaft pulley wheel problems.

I decided against it in the end, you need a very long extension bar and a lot of power to move the adjuster and I didn't see it as practical from under the car for the amount I could raise it off the ground.
Only paid 14 euro to have a decent garage do it, few minutes job to them.
