Hi all, my first post and I am looking for help if anyone would be so kind...

I have a 2007 A Class Elegance SE and have an SRS fault which I have read as passenger seat connection error. Have had a look under the seat and am trying to understand which cable connects to the occupancy sensor.

I have attached a wiring diagram as I see it along with a picture of the yellow connector.

If it is the wire with the yellow connector that goes into the middle of the underside of the seat, how do I disconnect it for cleaning? I can’t work out how to unclip it.

If it is the wire that goes up the back of the seat behind the plastic back panel, how easy it is to remove the plastic panel.

If anyone has any experience they could share on finding and rectifying this fault , I would be very grateful. I would prefer not to fit an emulator.

Thanks in advance.

G.

Yellow plug is for sensor mat and seat belt clip.

Not familiar with similarities between models, but W202/W210/W203 common culprit was broken wire where sensor wire goes inside the cushion. Need to remove whole seat to see properly.

Sensor mat can be coded out, air bags will then deploy no matter is seat occupied or not.

Thanks for your reply. It will be a seat out job I think as you say then. I will take the seat out and have a look.

I can’t work out how to unclip the yellow connector? Any tips? Probably hard to explain in words but any help would be appreciated.

I may end up trying to get a replacement seat from a breaker once lockdown is over.

Thanks
G.
