My blower switches to setting 4 from 2 on its own! its the model car with the digital heating display. Also, there isn't too much volume difference if any between blower setting 3 and 4. Also a clicking from the passenger footwell.
I have changed the fuse and cant find the fusible link I was told it may have.
Other than that I guess its the fan regulator I need to address.
Has anyone cleaned a fan regulator (Wd 40 etc) and solved the issue?
New to the Club but severely impressed with the knowledge and help the Club offers.
James

HI, the only cleaning you can do is on the two electrical contacts to the fan, sometimes the positive lead oxidises, check both ends (pull connector from motor) but chances are the regulator is u/s.

p.s

it is common place for new members to introduce themselves in new members introduction section, before asking for help

no problem just a tip:thumb:

Thanks for your help on this and I shall update you on the progress. You wouldn't recommend the fusible link if I could find it!
Is there a good place you would recommend for a replacement fan resistor as I keep being told its a special as the car has the heating digital programme.
Also, I cant seem to find what rpm i should be pulling for certain mph.
Your help is much appreciated.M

Thanks for the tip. I would appreciate you guiding me through the posting a message etc in the New Members section, as I am not into web sites too much.
Thanks.
James

If the fuse has blown you would have no fan at all,a specialist merc breaker like Mercman or
Dronsfields could be a good places to try for your regulator, members on here have mixed opinions on the latter though. not sure about mph/rpm as lots of variables apply.

go to forum jump,(bottom of page) select new members introduction, and start new post there
