Car
c230 estate
Hi there, this is my 1st post and my 1st ownership of a mercedes. :thumb:
I have just bought a standard '96 c230 elegance estate .
I have noted with interest, several threads on the w202, but I have the following two questions:

Can i get the lips/skirts on the bottom of the front and rear facelift model bumpers seperatley?

Would a set of amg 17" alloys fit this car 7"FR/8"R?

Cheers all
Jon

Yes, the skirt bits are fitted to the main bumper piece by way of plastic trim 'pins' for want of a better word

Yes they will but check the offset

Hi NW_merc,

Many thanks for the reply. Can these skirts be purchased from a mercedes dealer or is it more a 2nd hand thing?

Thanks again for replying to this new member.

Cheers
Jon

I have a set of sideskirts available if interested?

No, my car is as standard as it gets..I just like the little differences the facelift models seem to have, namely the lips and skirts and thought it would be a nice touch on my car, without going ott.
I was looking at the transformation you did on your 95 Elegance Killerhertz and it looked realy good.

Cheers, anything can be done if you have the patience!

You'll need to change the complete bumpers, you cannot just add the facelift bottom bits.

Also need Facelift rear bumper rails. you can get away with using the existing front ones but they will need filing down.

Are you saying then, that I will need to fit the complete bumpers from a facelift model from a w202. Would these then just fit straight on?

(I see what your saying and I suppose it may be easier to purchase the bumpers)

Thanks

Not unless you get new bumper brackets, you will need to file the hole in order to fit facelift bumpers with your current ones. Bumpers are really cheap if you either get them off a fellow member or ebay.

Facelift bumpers will go straight on, and I happen to have a set and the brackets if you're interested...

If you dont file down the front brackets the bumper will sit about 1" wider than the car on each side.
