Finally got round to looking at the problems with the a/c. I don't think its worked since I bought the car back in 2007 and having endured 2 summers without I decided to have a look.
As the system is completely empty I was able to pull the condenser straight out of the car with no probs. Didn't even need to remove the radiator as mentioned in the Haynes.
Ended up putting the condenser in the bath and blowing into it.
Not corroded at the bottom as expected (there was a lot of crud build-up) but two holes located behind where the fan motors sit (both areas quite furry and corroded).
Anyways, now in the market for a new condenser. Any ideas where I should get one. I've looked here
OEM Condenser: 2028300870/2028360870/2028300570 from Hypershop
and here
Aircon Condenser Radiator for Mercedes C CLASS (W202) 2.4 C240 Petrol Manual or Automatic May 96 to Jun 98: Part 16-6581
and it appears I can have a new OEM item for around £85!!
Any comments on this? Should I be wary and go elsewhere?
Cheers, Chris
