I'v noticed that i can feel a slight pulsing on the brake pedal,& the car vibrates under braking. I'v had the front calipers off & checked the discs, both perfect. Also tried putting handbrake on hard which has eliminated its not the rear brakes causing it. Any one got any ideas ?:wallbash:

Handbrake doesn't prove much as that uses a small drum in the centre of the rear disc and not the discs/pads themselves.

Assume you checked for any run-out/high spots on the front discs when you had the wheels off? Although less likely I'd check the rears as well.

I just did a visual inspection,no ridging, both front discs look quite recent replacements & are genuine MB, I'll check front wheel bearings first, & then have a look at the rear discs, thanx

Found the problem, rear discs shot !

Old thread revival I know.

Does this mean the rear discs are warped or something?
I had a pulsing in the pedal, got new front discs/pads fitted (CLK55), still have pulsing.
I suppose I should have had the rears changed at the same time.

I presume with the pulsing, it has to be brake related?

Yes, or a suspension arm.

Were the hubs cleaned properly when the discs were changed?

If the vibration is through the steering wheel its the fronts. Through the seat its the rears.

Hi, thanks for replying.

I saw the mechanic clean the hubs with some kind of wire brush?
he then applied a little copper grease round the hub centre.

There is no vibration in steering wheel, pulsing only through pedal and you can feel the car pulse obviously.

It could be the rears though too.

MB don't have any discs or pads in stock.
Any comments on pagid discs/pads

Cheers
Shaun

Best to buy MB (as others said).

But if you can't get MB, then Pagid discs are very good quality.

New rear discs/pads fitted.
Pulsing pedal now gone
