w202 c180 1995 problems

my first probs on the w202 firstly
mot stated "offside track rod end ball joint has slight play" which ball joint do they mean exactly, stupid me did not ask.
and secondly what is this in pic and why is it making a ticking sound.

ok have got the track rod sorted took a look and there is only one ,d.o.h
as for the picture,still not sure what part that is and why its making a ticking noise ?

apparently the duo valve does make a slight ticking sound i just googled it and the general thoughts are that its ok ,but seems odd though that it makes that noise.

no the interior temp and coolant seems fine martyz
im going through the whole car and slowly fixing all the niggles,the biggest will be a new clutch soon as ive got contamination and a judder from 1st gear but ill sort that if its not too expensive,im posting some picks of my bodywork bodge attempts soon so you lot can have a laugh at my terrible sanding work lol
