I put my c220 Sport 46k 60 plate in for an A service last thursday, and they advised the wife, when she collected the car that no 4 injector seal had a minor leak, nothing to worry about?

I took a look myself the next day and sure enough the rear most injector has a bit of oily residue around it, not much, but the other 3 are as clean as a whistle, MB have quoted me an hours labour to fit a new seal, part is £1.56. but said it's not urgent. Meanwhile I almost gave myself a heart attack when a searched "w204 injector" yes, I had no idea their was an issue! Looking at the ECU on top of the engine it appears I have the Delphi solenoid type fitted, together with the blue writing the return pipes, so I guess they have already been changed:thumb:

What I'm asking is, is this urgent, would you trust this job to a local MB specialist? As getting it back to the dealer is a pain.

Thanks

Doh title should be W204 C220 CDI Injector seal leak, can't find the edit button:dk:

A good indie is probably better, make sure that the re-seat it also otherwise it will just happen again in no time, I would get it done sooner rather than later as it takes no time before you get black death and then you risk breaking the rocker cover trying to remove it (not that this happened to me ahem) common issue in CDI motors

Ok thanks for that, better get on it, Black Death sounds ominous!

can you smell inside the car with engine running

if so - i would change pollen filter and maybe very cautiously clean engine covering ecu with a plastic bag..... 2 in fact

them fumes are worse than smoking - a chap came to me today with an bmw x5 regarding a knock i said cant you smell that ? i had a headache within 2 mins of driving the car - his injector was blowing back severely.

No smell, very minor deposits around injector no.4. So, luckily, looks like I've caught it early. I've had a search regarding Black Death:eek:
