Right guys, had the beast for a few months now and thought i'd start a thread on my modding progress :)

It's a late 1997 (facelift) C230 Kompressor with the sport package.

Got it for a very good price, mechanically sound but with a few other little issues, which i'll be sorting out as soon as possible. Here's some pics of the first few changes, i'll keep this updated, if anyone has any questions on how to do any of it just PM me and i'll try to help.

List of things that will eventually be done are:

18" wheels E-Class Avantgarde 5 spoke wheels
Dual exit square tip exhaust back box/middle box
Re-painted block
Re-spray to remove key mark/rust spots/colour code handles
Chipped ECU for increased BHP
Gear stick re-gaitering, probably black suede with grey stitching
Replace blown dash bulb
Tomtom Sat Nav
Chrome door sills

And mods completed so far include:

Painted callipers
8" TFT DVD monitor head unit
12" Sony Xplod sub/amp
Avantgarde Grille
Xenon bulbs

Sorry for picture quality but i just bought a 6.3 megapixel digital camera so they should be much better from now on :)

Brake callipers painted, not to everyone's tastes i know but i like it and its the most 'modified' thing i'll be doing to the car. The rest will all be AMG/Mercedes.............. so gimme a brake :bannana:

Avantgarde grille added from matrixcars on ebay, quality was ok but it was a very poor fit and needed lots of chopping to get it to sit properly. Still, now it's done i really like how much it updates the car.

Here it is - washed and with the new camera. Going to drive out and take some proper pics soon, doesnt look very impressive just parked on the road!

Bear with me, basic stuff now but i've got big plans and i'll update this post as I get the different parts done.

Was a bit better for pictures this weekend, if anyone has any comments on the photography (bearing in mind iv owned a camera for 3 days now) or the car (bearing in mind she's 10 years old) then let me know.

Thanks :)

Right then, i havent posted an update for a long time, and quite a lot's been going on with the car lately. The list of mods to date is now:

Reverse parking sensors
Avantgarde grille
Aero wiper blade
Silvervision bulbs
DVD head unit
Tomtom 100 sat nav
Braided brake lines
Aux belts
Exhaust
Door pillars re-spray
Door lock covers
Pedals
Bilstein B12 suspension kit
Full suspension rebuild
ECU chipped
Rear diff seals
ATE grooved front discs
Greenstuff brake pads

So if you're not interested and just want to look at the pretty pictures I've saved you some time! If you are interested however, here's a bit of a description and some pictures. I spent over 3hrs cleaning it earlier and couldnt extract any interest from the mrs. about how it looked, so thought i'd try here instead!

As stated before, please ignore the rust/dents. A re-spray is planned soon, but i want everything else to be spot on first :)

So........

Club mod, and a marked improvement on the originals in look and grip. Quite a good mod at £30 odd quid too!

Here is some of Olly at PCS's handywork. My car has been lowered onto a Bilstein B12 kit, and has some custom braided brake lines fitted. The effect on handling and braking of these two is unbelievable!

The suspension kit gives a slightly harder ride, but it is by no means uncomfortable and the improvement in grip, body-roll and stability is well worth it in my opinion.

For the brakes i have got ATE grooved discs, breen stuff pads and braided lines... and they feel great. Not too much noisier, there's a bit at the top of the pedal where you can lightly brake, after that there's a really good bite, the pedal feels firm and the car stops much better than it used to! I'd never replace with standard discs/pads again.

As you can see, the pads arent even making full contact yet, so there's more to come too!

Door lock covers were next, less than a fiver and tidy up the car nicely. I've never used the metal key in the two year's i've had it either so i cant see them getting in the way!

Silver vision bulbs were again quite cheap, but gets rid of the "fried egg" look. It's all in the detail!

All that's left to show is a few general pics of the car and how it sits on the new suspension:

I have a set of 18" stagered AMG monoblocks which i will wrap in Pirelli P Zero's and put on in the next few weeks. There is also a cruise control stalk on its way, so that will be going in shortly too.

After that a boot-install, body kit (still deciding which one - 36/43/wald  ) and re-spray.

Only thing left to say is a massive thanks to Olly (BlackC55) at Prestige Car Services. He's done all of the work on my car and i wont ever be sending it anywhere else. Great prices, honest opinions and he really knows his stuff. Top bloke!

Changed a very dodgy tyre for the spare last time i was there. No extra cost and stopped me dying on the M27, cheers! :D

Well, i've FINALLY got the monoblocks on! Pirelli zero's up front and some Nankangs on the rear :D

Really happy with them, look better and there's more grip too, especially from a stand-still.

Big thanks to Akesh for the alloys, and Olly for storing it all until i could get down to have them fitted

I now have the sport alloys for sale, so PM me if you're interested!

Cheers!
